Reviews for 2013

Ok so I just finished reading this really good hot a super steamy book by seasoned author Sylvia Day: before I get started on my review I just want to point out that I didn't think that this book was a rip off of fifty shades of grey. This book to me stands on it's own as a great book. Day made the characters of Gideon and Eva more real than James' characters in fifty. These characters are more  realistic than any other characters I have read in a book thus far. They have some real problems and I love how the book focused on there relationship issues and there personal issues and not just the sex. To me that is were fifty came up short. Overall this book is a AWESOME read and a great way to kick off the new year! RATING: 4 OUT OF 5

Okay so I read the second book in the "Cross Fire" series by Sylvia Day. Reflected in you picks up right were Gideon and Eva's story in the first one leaves off. Only thing is in this time we find out why Gideon is the way he his when it comes to Eva. I enjoyed this book just as much as I enjoyed the first one, I did think that it was very big let down when you find out the cause of Gideon's nightmare's. I was expecting something more of a wow factor when it came to that. I was also but on a emotional roller coaster when it came to these to characters! I swear I needed a stiff drink to keep up with them! Overall I loved this book
and I am looking forward to the third and final one! RATING: 4 OUT OF 5

I have NEVER read a book that I enjoyed so much! This right here is up there with "Water for Elephants" this truly one of those books that I love. Tea Obrent put so much detail into this story. It was actually a story wrapped within to other stories. I Loved this book and I loved the whole concept of it and I loved how this book kept your attention for the whole time. I will say thought it did start off slow and I was tempted to put it down.. however I am glad that I did not because this book is a pure work of art.

There is just something special on how it was put together. Once I started to piece together the different stories and how they were tie together and I had to say "oh" when it clicked! I will consider reading this book in the near future and I will recommend it to any one looking for a good read!
RATING: 5 OUT OF 5

This was my second or third teen fiction read, it was ok and it was not bad. It did remind me of the hunger games a little bit, but other than that it was a okay read. I must admit I did enjoy it a little tiny bit. I was a super short read. Perhaps because it was a book written for teenagers. I also must confess that I only bought this book because it was on sale threw Barnes and Noble. Character wise it was well but together, and had a good plot. I am curious to see what the second book hold's in store. Tris the main character did show some amazing strengths for such a frail young teenager. Some of the plot twist were super obvious, like you know what was happening if you just thought ahead a little bit. Overall though this was a okay book. RATING: 2.5 OUT OF 5

Okay this was the second book in this series that I read. It was ok, to me it had the main character being to girly and ditsy. I mean she sounded like a dumb blonde even though in the movie she is played by a brunette. I really didn't enjoy this one. Hopefully the third one would be more enjoyable. There is not much else to say on this book. RATING: 2 OUT OF 5

Okay so I FINALLY finished reading The Rook, and this was a okay book it was at times a big struggle to finish reading. I saw this because I had these moments were I was like bored with it. Story wise it was a very interesting story it reminded me of X men with a British twist. There is nothing really to say about this book overall it was a ok book. RATING: 3 OUT OF 5

Ok let me first say that there are few books that I read this year that I REALLY like and this is one of them. this book is AMAZING. It really tapped into the greatness that is my soul. It had it moments when you were absorbed in the story and there were times that really made you think about the bigger picture. This book described the whole big picture of life, I would challenge anyone not to fall in love with this book and not try to find there own personal legend. This book has inspired me to go after my my own dream. I suggest that you read it if you want a bigger view of everything... RATING: 5 OUT OF 5

This is number three in the Stephanie Plum series. I found this book to be a better one than the second one. This was so far my favorite one. The characters in this one were more interesting, either that or I have just gotten used to them. It kept me guessing but then at times I thought that it was to predictable like you knew what was going to happen. Other than the predictable nature of the book I did enjoy it and I do look forward to reading more of this series. RATING: 3.5 OUT 5

Okay so some of Janet Evanovich's books are a big hit and miss with me. This one was a big miss. I really didn't care for this book. The only reason I read this book is because I read the first one. it was okay. It seemed a little to quick for my liking I finished the book in two days. Either that or I read too fast, I thought the characters were cliche and not well developed. RATING: 1 OUT 5

Okay so this was another quick read that I read in between other books. This is the first book in this series and I think it has real potential to develop into a great series. I did enjoy reading it but it seemed to predictable after a while. So if the author can move away from being predictable it can be awesome as a series! RATING: 3.5 OUT 5

Ok Eugenides is by far one of my favorite authors I have heard a lot about this book before I read it and most of what I heard about it was negative press by those who do not get the style in which Eugenides writes. I enjoyed this book at times though it was slow, it did slowly snowball into something great. It left me wanting more at the end. Speaking of end I did not care for the ending of this book. I wont give anything away but I do wish the characters could have had some kind of solution to there problems. Nevertheless this was another great book by one of my favorite authors. RATING 3.5 OUT 5

Okay every once and a while I stumble on a book that is simply amazing, at first I was skeptical because I never really heard of Joe Hill. I gave this book a shot on a whim and I was not disappointed the least bit. It was a book that grabs you from page one and refuses to let go! Joe Hill is a AWESOME author and he writes with a lot of elements that you find in Stephen King novels. I was blown away by the quality of this book. Ok enough gushing over it let me sum it up for you... nah I am not, your going to have to read it for yourself to understand this awesome of this book. I promise you will not regret reading this book PERIOD! RATING: 5 OUT 5

Okay this is book three in the crossfire series, with Gideon and Eva. This whole series has been more easy on the mind, by that I mean it's a breath of fresh air compared to "Fifty shades of grey". Both series share similar elements, but they couldn't be more different. This was not my favorite of the "Crossfire" books. The book held the same drama for Gideon and Eva. Bombshell's were dropped, and progress was made. The one thing that really did disappoint me was the ending. I felt it could have ending better but it was the type of ending that let you know it was another book in the works. I hope the next book answer's some questions that I am sure we all have about Gideon and Eva. RATING 3 OUT 5
